Mindy Whidden Curtis Growing up as a pastor's kid Mindy learned to play all the instruments needed for a praise team. Those skills have come in handy now that she's an adult and leading worship at Refuge Church in Charlestown. She's teaching a lot of people the same skills she taught herself all those years ago as she's building a praise team at this new church plant. Mindy has been married to Joey for a little over a year. She's a nursing student at IUS, and in what little spare time she has you can find her working out at the gym or running the streets of New Albany. Cris is a mom of five (two sets of twins and a singleton), mother-in-love of two and Nana of one (with many more to come, she hopes). The daughter of a preacher, she has had the privilege of being raised in church and loving Jesus as long as she can remember. She and Monty have been married for 31 years and they both enjoy singing and writing music, poking around antique malls and eating ice cream. She is also making a great effort to be excited about fishing—for her husband’s sake! Cris loves to share with others the many ways becoming a parent taught her about the grace of God and His heart toward her as His daughter. She has a passion for talking with other women about pushing past the tendency to tear down our sisters in Christ, aiming instead for edification. She works in the Finance Office at IUPUC and dreams of one day retiring to live the beach life.
