You will find that Buena Baptist is very kid-friendly! Children are our future so we make a great effort in training them in the ways of our Lord. We do this by making sure that they are provided a safe environment that promotes healthy socialization, fun activities that explore the Word of God and instills a love of learning. Sometimes it is just by making sure that their bellies are full and that they have been given an encouraging word.
During the Sunday School hour, your children are invited to participate in classes that are age divided and Bible taught. You will find friendly teachers who will pray for your children and do their best to show them God's love by setting an example with their own lives.
We provide a well stocked nursery for our youngest family members which include a live-feed television so that adults will not miss out on anything that happens during the worship time. Children’s Church is then offered for preschoolers through third grade. This gives the children a chance to learn to worship God at their own age level. This is an optional class. If you feel more comfortable worshiping as a family, then you are encouraged to do so.
Children-in-Action is offered on Wednesday evenings during the adult Bible study time. This class focuses on the Great Commission. Children learn about a different missionary each month and the area in which they are serving. Not only are the children encouraged to go forth unto all the nations but they learn a great deal of geography too! Service projects are also a part of the class. In the past, CiA students have done food drives for the needy, collected school supplies to send overseas and have written letters to missionaries who serve away from their families. Whether we are constructing volcanoes when studying Hawaii or collecting toiletries for Haiti, it is all done in Jesus name!
Vacation Bible School is a crazy weeklong event that takes place every summer. The main purpose of VBS is to tell our community about Jesus Christ! But, this is not the Bible School that you remember as a child! Every year has a different theme. The theme is used to present the Gospel through music, crafts, snacks, recreation and an evangelistic message each night. The church facilities are completely decorated and the energy level is over the top! The best part is that VBS is not just for kids anymore! We also offer classes for the teens and the adults.
